The Maltby PET (Pure Energy Transfer) putters provide more direct feel to
the golfer than most inserted putters available. When a typical insert,
encased into a steel putter head, strikes a golf ball, up to 65% of the
direct energy transfer from the collision with the golf ball is lost or
distorted by the time it reaches the player's hands. The new PET putter's
one-piece aluminum insert/hosel provides a direct link for energy to pass
from the impact of the ball to the player's hands. The excess energy
transfer from the PET putter head to the golfer's hands results in
outstanding distance control.
Another major benefit from the PET putter's aluminum one-piece insert/hosel
construction is weight distribution. I tested many different insert/hosel
materials and found the strength, feel and weight of aluminum to be the
best possible insert/hosel material for the PET putters. Because of the
lightweight aluminum insert/hosel material, more weight has been added to
the perimeter of the PET's CNC milled carbon steel putter heads creating
exceptional directional control even on off-center hits. The hosels of the
PET putters are offset and slanted slightly towards the center of the
putter heads to provide better directional control by reducing head
twisting at impact. If you couple the superb distance control with
incredible directional control, you simply end up with a better putter.
The two-piece construction of the PET putter could only be achieved by
advanced CNC milling. The insert/hosel piece and the carbon steel body and
cavity of the PET putters are CNC milled to exact tolerances so that the
two pieces fit perfectly together creating exact loft, lie and weight
specifications.
The PET putters are available in a tour player preferred heel and toe
weighted model as well as a modern mallet style putter. Both the Tour and
Mallet PET putters are plated in a radiant champagne tinted cobalt chrome.
