The wrong putter can do more harm than the right putter can do good.  The putter is the club you will use most.  Playing a Par 72 course in par will require you to use your driver about 14 times, hit fairway wood shots about 4 times,  hit approach shots into greens 18 times, and putt about 36 times. The most important thing about your putter is that YOU are comfortable with it.  Many top players have gone thru 20 or more putters to find "THE PUTTER".  If you are struggling on the greens maybe it is because you are just not comfortable with your putter.  The tour players sure are not using putters off the rack, they have their putter custom fit so they start out over the put with a comfort factor.  A true custom fit set of golf clubs includes a properly fit putter.
